A Magyar Klub gyerekei díszítették Ann Taylor kajakos hajóját II. Erzsébet királyné köszöntésére
A wokingi Magyar Klub gyerekei felkérést kaptak Ann Taylor kajakozó hajójának a feldíszítésére, amely a hétvégén résztvett a II. Erzsébet királyné trónra lépésének 60. évfordulóját ünneplő Temze folyón rendezett flottafelvonuláson. Ann már régóta figyelemmel kíséri a klub működését, és a gyerekek korábbi projektmunkáit látván döntött úgy, hogy átengedi részükre e nemes feladatot. Koch Krisztina, a klub egyik vezetője készítette el a dekorációs terveket, majd május 27-én egy külön jubileumi klubfoglalkozás keretén belül kilenc lelkes gyermek (2-11 évesek) aktív résztvételével készült el a hajó végleges arculata. A gyermekek név és kor szerint: Tábori Péter (2) és Lőrinc (4), Bán Endre (4), Koch Viktor (4) és Veronika (5), Fángli Anett (4), Hunor (8) és Róbert (10), illetve West Zac (11). Ezek után kerültek rá a kalocsai pingált virágcsokrok. Ann nagyon örült a végeredménynek. Az ünnepi felvonulást követően elmondta: “Az ezer hajóból álló díszmenetet csodálatos ünneplés kísérte a folyó partjáról. Fantasztikus érzés volt a királynőt ilyen közelről látni és részese lenni egy ilyen nagy eseménynek! Külön öröm volt számomra az, hogy a hajóm Angliát és Magyarországot is képviselte: a kajak elejére az Egyesült Királyság zászlaja a királyné monogramjával, a korona, illetve a kettőt elválasztó kalocsai rózsaminták kerültek, míg hátul a magyar zászló látható közepén a magyar címerrel, alá pedig egy gyönyörű kalocsai virágcsokor került.” A wokingi Magyar Klub osztozott Ann örömében és nagy megtiszteltetés volt számukra a felkérés. Children from the Hungarian Club decorated a kayak for the Queen's Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant Children from the Hungarian Club, Woking were asked by Ann Taylor to help with the decoration of her kayak that was going to parade in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant on the 3rd June 2012 celebrating Queen Elizabeth's 60 years of reign. The kayaker from Blackwater Valley Canoe Club previously saw some of the art projects created by the children in the Knaphill (Woking) based Hungarian Club and decided to place her trust into their skilled little hands. On Sunday afternoon ten children aged between 2 and 11 spent nearly five hours painting Krisztina Koch's Diamond Jubilee Celebration design on the surface of the boat. The little artists were Péter (2) and Lőrinc (4) Tábori, Lőrinc (2) and Endre (4) Bán, Viktor (4) and Veronika (5) Koch, Anett (4), Hunor (8) and Robert (10) Fángli, and Zac West (11). The children certainly matched up to Ann's expectation and the result was fantastic. After Tuesday's river procession Ann said: "All the way through the day the atmosphere created by the people cheering on the river banks was extraordinary! The memory of seeing the Queen from a close proximity in her beautifully dressed boat will stay with me for life! I feel honoured being invited to take part in the largest flotilla for 350 years on the River Thames and for such an occasion. I was also very proud of my kayak expressing both of my nationalities: at the front she had the Union Flag with "EIIR" and the picture of the crown painted on, in between these two patterns she had some kalocsai red and orange roses. The stern was emblazoned with the Hungarian flag displaying the arms of the Hungarians in the middle and with some more kalocsai flower patterns."
